A Sunflower field in Czech Republic for
Virtual Paintout Painted in chalk and smeared with my fingers. I tried to draw this in colored pencils, then tried to paint it in water colors. Totally unsatisfied with both of them. Finally when I drew it using chalk,as messy as it is...I liked it.
I really like this too Gem.
ReplyDeleteIt screams SUMMER!
xx
I really like it Gemma. The sunflowers appear to be "popping" out and the yellow/greens are some of my favorite colors next to chocolate. Have a great week. Good darn job!
ReplyDeleteWhat?? This is Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLove big, smiling sunflowers. I hope you wiped your hands on the curtains when you were done:)
xox
Even on the screen it has a softness to it. Makes me smile to see it!
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are my theme in my classroom. Bright and cheery! Lovely job, gemma!
Chalk! It's beautiful. There's such rich color and yet it looks soft and dreamy. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteIts just lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Gemma!! I love it and it ranks amongst my favorites of your works.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Beautiful. Makes me feel good to look at it. I too, like to work with chalk/pastels and use the finger smear. The end result of blending is amazing. Love your flowers!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI had to go back for another look. Viewing it makes one look into forever, not just the flowers. Your perspective is terriffic! xoxo ok, I'll toodle on down the road now. :)
ReplyDeleteHave to agree, Gemma. This is beautiful. So soft and easy on the eyes.
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely, Gemma. Dreamy and hazy and beautiful, just like a hot summer day. How great is it that you did not give up after the other two media didn't work out? That's inspiring me today, when I'm unhappy with a scene I just wrote and came here irritated about needing a do-over. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteInspiring. Glad you attempted it three times. Thankyou.
ReplyDeleteI really like it. They make me think of a bunch of golden stars.
ReplyDeleteWe can be our worst critics. When I come across an old piece that I wasnt satisfied with it turns out I actually like it. Nice sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteWow! I like that too!
ReplyDeleteI admire your persistence in trying until you found a medium which "spoke" for you!
