A Sunflower field in Czech Republic for Virtual Paintout Painted in chalk and smeared with my fingers. I tried to draw this in colored pencils, then tried to paint it in water colors. Totally unsatisfied with both of them. Finally when I drew it using chalk,as messy as it is...I liked it.

  2. I really like it Gemma. The sunflowers appear to be "popping" out and the yellow/greens are some of my favorite colors next to chocolate. Have a great week. Good darn job!

Love big, smiling sunflowers. I hope you wiped your hands on the curtains when you were done:)

  7. Awesome! Beautiful. Makes me feel good to look at it. I too, like to work with chalk/pastels and use the finger smear. The end result of blending is amazing. Love your flowers!! xoxoxo

  8. I had to go back for another look. Viewing it makes one look into forever, not just the flowers. Your perspective is terriffic! xoxo ok, I'll toodle on down the road now. :)

  10. It's so lovely, Gemma. Dreamy and hazy and beautiful, just like a hot summer day. How great is it that you did not give up after the other two media didn't work out? That's inspiring me today, when I'm unhappy with a scene I just wrote and came here irritated about needing a do-over. Thanks!

  13. We can be our worst critics. When I come across an old piece that I wasnt satisfied with it turns out I actually like it. Nice sunflowers!
