In my kitchen

Next to the sink are paintbrushes, sea shells, soap and a scrubber.
On the counter there's a mason jar,a coffee pot,some keys,some papers.
On the wall the Chopra Center Calendar features henna hands for February.

"The same creative force that generated this universe created your body. It is vibrating with intelligence and spirit. It is ultimately sacred and worthy of your love, respect and intentions. Take good care of it and it will take good care of you."
~David Simon MD

A blue and white dish towel hangs next to the stove.

  8. This is lovely, Gemma. I love the careful description of an everyday scene in your life. I've always wanted to have my hands hennaed... never done so yet. :)

  9. Henna that reminds me I need to try it on my hair for the first time. But I rather be indigenous . A company from Albuquerque sales Pinon flavored cocoa. I bought it on the Plaza in Santa Fe. It tastes okay. Nice kitchen! I can imagine!

  10. Gemma, dear, I think you would love "How Proust Can Change Your Life", by Alain de Botton. It is non-fiction. It does not require you to read Proust. (I don't know about you, but I have always found Proust too daunting.) Rather, it is about finding beauty in the ordinary, the everyday. As you have.
