Update on trees

Have you seen the movie Avatar?
Here are pictures as some of the trees came down at my school.
I cried with the broken heart of a skinny blue woman.

  1. Oh Gemma, that's horrible! I am so sorry, that is just so wrong. A couple of days ago I heard a chainsaw only to find out that my next door neighbour did the same thing to the tree in front of her house. Our whole street looks so bare now. What is wrong with people?

  2. I cry with you Gemma. It is always sad to see these old old trees come down. Sorry sweetie. :(

  3. I cry with you too, Gemma...it's so sad! You may remember my own heartbreaking experience with the bushland being demolished behind our back fence a few months ago. I'm still upset about it as I miss my trees and waking to the sounds of birds in chorus each morning.

  4. Were they dead or sick? That looks like the perfect spot for a tree.

  5. Oh, God, I'm so sad when I see that, Gemma. We just went through something similar, as you know, and it was traumatic for me. Especially when the jerks on the tree-cutting crew were calling out "Come on, baby, come on, baby," while the chainsaw was going, and then, "Woohoo!" once the first chunks of tree fell from 30 feet up. I felt like I was witnessing a very gruesome mass murder...

    Sending you a hug, hon.

  6. That's awful. Here, one has to get a permit to cut down a tree, and if it's granted, you have to plant another in it's place, and there is a list you must choose from. I like that.
