Once again Inspiration Avenue has inspired me. The challenge this week is Fantasy. What magic will come from this? My totem Raven immediately flapped her wings and cawed. So I knew I would introduce you to Agrippa. She is my bird. She has made herself known to me for many years.
When I was a young girl she sat in a tree outside my Mothers door. She spoke to me "Hello" she said.
(Apparently someone had clipped her tongue allowing her to talk much like a Myna bird.)
Often when I am out hiking the hills she flies by my shoulders.
Many times she swoops down and rustles around in the bushes or plays on the ground nearby. Always making a little noise to let me know she is there.
It was no surprise to find out the Raven is my totem animal. Just a little Syn-Crow-nicity.
Ah, just perfect for this challenge! Funnily enough, I just painted a girl with a black bird on her shoulder. I think it's a Raven!
ReplyDeleteLove the painting! My totem is a brown bear so I don't see mine when I'm out hiking....thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteHi Gemma ~ It was good to hear from you. That's a wonderful drawing of your totem.
ReplyDelete~ Be Blessed ~
Gemma,
ReplyDeleteThis is just fabulous! I didn't even know it was a bird at first, just a hairdo. We have had SO many blackbirds this summer. But I think they are different from crows/ravens.
It's a great totem Gemma. I thought it was her hair at first and then I looked closer and tapped you on the back and said to you..."Gemma what a genius you are!" It's great word amiga. I love it! Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so fanciful! The raven makes a wonderful hairdo! I would love to have a raven as my totem.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! You are so clever...too many funny, half-hidden, brilliant tokens to comment on them all! I love it :D

Beautiful work..such a gorgeous piece full of magic and spirit.
ReplyDeleteVictoria~
Syn-Crow-nicity. ;) I like that.
ReplyDeleteHer eyes are so lovely, Gemma. You have a way with eyes. Don't know if I've mentioned that before. But the eyes of your creations just glow and shine with that inner light -- even though they are two-dimensional beings made with art supplies...
I love both the drawing and the words, Gemma. You are so interesting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love Raven, too. Always have. Don't know if she's my totem, though. I've always like to think so. Love your pun, too!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing Agrippa with us ~ what a treasure!
