Wild wet weather in the desert
Fields and gutters full of water,
Melted hail, and debris.
Inviting to dragonfly swarms.
My heart is overjoyed to see,
faerie like creatures tripping the light fantastic,
dancing, and mating simultaneously.
The reflection of the now blue sky
shines in the standing rainwater.
Verbal expression, the natural world, self exploration, art, sprinkled with life's moments

Welcome rain

Rain is big news here in Az.
We are getting as much rain this week as we got all of last year.
We only got 3.26 inches of rain in 2009.
A zone that gets under 10 inches of rainfall a year is considered a desert.
We have been well short of that in recent years.
PHOENIX - Sky Harbor Airport will end up with a five inch rainfall deficit for 2009. The total rain in the official bucket checks in at 3.26”, the 7th driest year on record for Phoenix. Our records go back to 1895.
So welcome rain.
We need this.
Our plants and wildlife need this.
It is a blessing.
